Inspiration
I'm inspired by wabi sabi—the beauty of imperfection. More than anything I love images that capture a feeling. I gather inspiration from PEOPLE, my travels, wide-open landscapes, architecture, art, vintage film, fashion, shades of blue. Lately I've been especially inspired by old film and vintage cameras. I crave things that are unpredictable and invoke a little bit of nostalgia.
I'm also inspired by beautiful words. creative syntax. A phrase that captures an idea and sticks with you long after you've read it. I fell in love with writing and storytelling before I ever picked up a camera, and I'm equally in love with both.
My APPROACH
I believe life is art, and I have a more untraditional, out-of-the-box approach to photography. I thrive when I'm out of my comfort zone AND constantly reinventING how I do things and discoverING new perspectives.
What this looks like: I do my best work when I have your full trust to just experiment and get weird. I don't want cookie-cutter pretty: I want messy, unique, blur, grain, light leaks, imperfect film shots, trippy prisms, a variety of compositions, The in-between "off-script" moments. Artful photos you want to print and hang on your wall—not because they're perfect, but because they make you feel something.
